Public Profiles & Sharing
Signed in, your profile is your home page. It's the first thing you land on, and it's the same page other people see when they visit you, so what you're looking at is what you're showing.
Your public URL is mtgcodex.net/users/[your-name], where the last part is your display name in lowercase with spaces and punctuation turned into hyphens. By default the page is close to empty. Everything else you turn on deliberately.
Your Avatar
Pick any card as your avatar. Click yours, search for a card, and drag the art up or down to frame it. No uploads, nothing to moderate, and every possible avatar is a card Wizards printed.
Top 5 Decks
Feature up to five decks at the top of your profile, in an order you choose. Private decks can sit in the list, they just don't appear to anyone else, so making a deck private for a while doesn't destroy the order you set up.
Your Wall
Other players can leave posts on your profile, and you moderate your own. You can delete anything on your wall, and you can ban someone from posting there again, which also clears out what they already left.
A wall ban is not a block. Blocking is mutual and total; barring someone from your profile doesn't have to mean cutting contact everywhere. Anyone can also flag a post for review.
Your Public Profile
When visitors look at your profile, they see your display name, and whatever sections you've made visible. The profile adapts to show only what you've shared:
Collection: Your full card inventory, with search and filtering, pricing, and both tile and list views. Visitors can browse but can't make changes.
Decks: Your deck list with cover art, format tags, and color identity pips. Clicking into a public deck shows the full card list, stats, and value. Private decks within a public deck list stay hidden.
Tradelist: All the cards you've marked "For Trade," with images, pricing, and filters. Useful for trade partners who want to see what you're offering.
Wishlist: Everything on your wishlist, with images and pricing. Useful for letting your playgroup know what you're looking for.
Setting It Up
Go to Settings and find Visible Sections. Each one has its own toggle: collection, decks, tradelist, wishlist.
Below that, Social has a switch per feature: your wall, your friends list, your Top 5, whether people can send you friend requests, and whether people can start new conversations with you. All default on.
Two of those draw a line worth knowing. Turning off friend requests still lets you accept one somebody already sent. Turning off new messages leaves conversations you're already in working. Silently breaking a conversation in progress is worse than declining to start a new one.
For individual decks, there's also a public/private toggle within deck settings. This lets you have a public deck page while keeping specific decks private, useful if you have a secret brew you're not ready to share yet.
Sharing Your Profile
Your profile URL is mtgcodex.net/users/[your-name]. You can share it anywhere.
If you change your display name the URL changes with it, and the old one keeps working: it redirects to the new address permanently, so links you have already shared do not break. A Discord server, a trade forum, an LGS post. Only the sections you've enabled will be visible to whoever opens it.
