Account & Settings

Everything account-related lives on the Profile page.

Profile Details

Your profile shows your email address and display name. You can change your email (requires your current password to confirm), and change your password at any time. The password field has a strength meter that checks for length, mixed case, numbers, and special characters — the minimum is 10 characters.

Forgot Your Password

On the login page, click "Forgot Password?" — enter your email, check your inbox for a reset link, and follow it to set a new password. The link expires after a few hours for security. If you don't see the email, check your spam folder; it comes from SendGrid and some spam filters are aggressive about transactional email.

Email Verification

Every new account needs a verified email before logging in. After registering, click the link in the verification email. If you missed it or the link expired, the login page has a "Resend Verification Email" button.

Privacy & Visibility

Your data is completely private by default. Nothing is visible to other users unless you explicitly turn it on. Go to Profile → Visibility Settings to control each section independently:

Public Collection — Let anyone browse your cards

Public Decks — Let anyone see your deck list

Public Tradelist — Share which cards you're willing to trade

Public Wishlist — Let people see what you're looking for

These toggles are all independent. You can share your tradelist without exposing your collection, or share your decks without sharing anything else. Combine them however makes sense for how you use the app.

Individual decks also have their own public/private toggle in deck settings. A deck can be kept private even if your deck list is set to public overall.

Themes

The Profile page has a theme picker with eleven options — the default Codex look, the five Alara shards, and the five Tarkir wedges. It recolors the whole app, not just one page, and it saves to your account rather than to the browser, so it follows you to whatever device you log in on.

Notices

Occasionally you'll see a message when you log in — a heads-up about a new feature, a planned outage, that sort of thing. Dismiss it and it won't come back. Some of them have a feedback box, and if it's there, it's because the answer genuinely matters to what gets built next.

Terms of Service

New accounts agree to the Terms of Service during registration via a checkbox on the signup form. Existing users will see a one-time TOS gate modal the next time they log in after a TOS update — it summarizes the key points (respectful use, account security, age requirement, data usage, uptime disclaimers) and requires you to check a box and click "I Accept — Continue to MTG Codex" before you can use the rest of the app. Declining means the gate stays up. The full TOS is always available at /tos if you want to read it later.

Eligibility for Community Features

The community features — direct messages, deck comments, notifications, and the trade interest button — are gated behind two profile requirements: you need a display name set, and you need your profile set to public. Both are configured on the Profile page. Until both are in place, those features will show a gate message pointing you here. This isn't a paywall or anything restrictive — it's just to make sure everyone using community features has a baseline identity that other users can see and recognize.

The Danger Zone

At the bottom of the Profile page there are two destructive actions:

Delete Collection removes all your cards permanently. You'll need to type "DELETE" to confirm. Your account and everything else — decks, binders, wishlist — stays intact.

Delete Account removes everything permanently: your account, collection, decks, binders, wishlist, pinned cards, and scan history. This cannot be undone. There's no recovery path.
